And I am not getting the Magewell Usb Capture HDMI Gen2 card to be recognized by the guest.

I already create a USB filter in guest settings.
I can't get it to work. can anyone help?

Thank you

7.0.2 is getting rather old. Please check if the problem still exists in the current release (7.0.8).

But I would not get my hopes up. An HDMI dongle sounds like a big ask for a VM.

Looks like you found USB basics and troubleshooting, good.

One thing to point out, your VM's USB filter may be too filled in. See post #4.

It already recognizes the usb capture.
Thanks @mpack and @scottgus1 for the help.

the problem was actually the version.. I updated it and it started to recognize.

but I still can't see the image, will it be some limitation of the vm? Is it not possible to have video Capture?

Thank you

Video playback will require a video overlay feature in the graphics driver. So make sure that the Guest Additions are installed and 3D acceleration is enabled. The User Manual has details.

And like I said, don't hope for too much. FullHD video decoding and rendering is a big ask for simulated hardware.
