it doesn‘t work when you choose efi in debian

Post by jjj1 »

my host is debian. when you try to install debian in vbox and choose efi,it doesn't work.
but if you install ubuntu or deepin,it‘s ok. there’s no this problem since vbox6.1.14

two months ago there’s the same problem when you install debian in qemu with libvirt, and it’s ok now

Debian what? There's several versions of Debian, some of which may not be compatible with EFI booting.

Please explain this a bit clearer? If English is not your native language, please use your native language and we can try a translation service.

"This problem does not happen before vbox6.1.14."

Maybe "Testing" has problems. Does Debian Sid work in Virtualbox EFI?

Start the VM from full normal shutdown, not save-state. Run until you see the problem happen, then shut down the VM from within the VM's OS if possible. If not possible, close the Virtualbox window for the VM with the Power Off option set.

Right-click the VM in the main Virtualbox window's VM list, choose Show in Explorer/Finder/File Manager. In the "Logs" subfolder, zip the VM's "vbox.log", and post the zip file, using the forum's Upload Attachment tab.
