Hi All,
Just wanted to share that the Linux Mint VM working fine for almost a year across mint updates started raising "cinnamaon crashed and now is working in fallback mode" after VBox was updated from 6.1.x to 7.0.2. Initially I tried to resolve within the VM at cinnamon/ display driver level but also thought if reverting to 6.1.x would resolve the problem and voila, it did. No more fallback .... this even though the display settings of the machine were untouched.
Thought I'll share this for fellow users AND for VBox team to investigate.

Was this ever fixed? I'm stuck on 6.1 for the same reason.

I suggest you look for a BugTracker ticket and raise one if it doesn't exist - remember to attach a zipped VM log. Don't expect devs to be slumming it here in the forums.
