Alacritty terminal broken on VB 7.0
Possibly related to other reports of graphics issues, alacritty no longer works - no output, or garbage - on Ubuntu 22 under VB 7.0. Alacritty is a GPU based terminal emulator. What has been broken? A bit unhappy for a major new release. What to do? Discussion on github for alacritty seems to be leading nowhere.

More on this - emacs also shows the same garbage as alacritty. This occurs when running Wayland. There's something clearly broken. Are others observing this? I can;t imagin=e there is anything unique about my installation. Running VB 7.0 under Windows 11 (albeit Insider Preview (which had no problems with VB before 7.0).

Wayland has lots of problems in VirtualBox. Try X if you can.
