Hello
My host is Ubuntu 20.04 and Guest is 22.04.
I am trying to attach an USB hard drive to the Guest which is connected to the host.
So, I go to VM settings -> USB -> USB Device Filters and add the USB drive there but after clicking OK nothing happens and the drive doesnt appear in Ubuntu guest.
The USB drive is 3.0 and I selected USB 3.0 controller. I tried with USB 2.0 but that doesnt work as well.
Any help would be really appreciated.
Thanks

Re: Can not see USB external drive in Ubuntu 22.04
The only thing showing going into the VM is the virtual mouse:
Carefully go through USB basics and troubleshooting. If you finish all the steps 1-7 and cannot get your USB device into the guest OS, carefully post the outputs of the commands in step 8 as text, not screenshots. Zip and post the logs step 8 call for, using the forum's Upload Attachment tab.
The log appears to have been taken while the VM was running, so it is incomplete. You'd want to have all the VM windows closed before taking the log.00:00:01.281083 [/Devices/usb-xhci/] (level 2)
