Hello
I'm trying to import a Debian Linux 64 VM from a Xen system, but i can't boot it.
I can see grub loading and working, then it lists the kernel and ramdisk and then i have a
black screen and cursor blinking. (Plus, Caps lock also blinking)
The only way to end it, is a machine shutdown.
Procedure:
In the running VM on Xen, i removed the package xe-guest-utilities/now
I also commented out the entries in fstab by uuid and restored by "xvaNN" prefix
to avoid problems. (After a reboot, the VM still works)
then i exported the VM in a ova file.
To avoid the error:
"Document labelled UTF-16 but has UTF-8 content" i unzip the ova file, obtaining the vhd
(Or directly exported vhd, same result)
In Virtualbox (6.1)
I create a new machine
Same RAM, and giving the vhd file as HardDrive
Virtualbox recognize it as mounted on a SATA controller,
so i added an Ide Hd, assigning my vhd, and then removed the link under sata
Following the suggetions founded at this link: http://www.stepit.co.za/wp/blog/2016/09 ... rtual-box/
To try, i downloaded the debian iso of the same release and i reinstalled grub without success.
before, i tried to use boot disk repairs but nothing change
Any idea?
What i'm missing? (other than knowledgeOo ?)
Thanks
