Hi
I wanted to install Ubuntu Budgie 21.10 in VirtualBox 6.1 on Linux Mint 20.2.
The installer looks like this:
Unfortunately, a part of the installer is cut off in the right and lower area. The area with the crucial buttons to perform the installation.
With these graphical problems, the installation of Ubuntu Budgie will not work.
Graphical Ubuntu installer is cut off in the right and bottom area

Re: Graphical Ubuntu installer is cut off in the right and bottom area
I had that problem with Budgie too (or at least some form of Linux). I had to Tab and Enter to get to the next wizard step.
I am not certain, though, why it happens. I believe that the installer OS is not asking for the correct screen size. Virtualbox will respond to the installer's screen size request when it is requested.
Sometimes Linux inserts their fork of Guest Additions into the OS. You could try the VM window's View menu, Virtual Screen 1, see if the Resize To options are enabled. If so, try 1024x768 and see what happens.
Otherwise I have no idea how to fix the screen size. Try web-searching for an installer tutorial with screenshots, then use Tab and Enter.

The resolution for Virtual Screen 1 is set to 800x600 and cannot be changed.

There is a step-by-step guide that describes the necessary adjustments when installing an Ubuntu-based distribution. See here.

As I gather it, the linked tutorial says to change the video card from VMSVGA to VboxSVGA, then the extra screen sizes will be available. Is this what you did?

You're right. That's exactly what I did.

Other Linux distributions, such as Fedora, do not require such a special treatment during installation.
I will probably never understand why sometimes long workaround instructions are created instead of simply fixing the software problem directly.
