I tried to find everywhere the solution of this, no luck.
I have Ubuntu on Virtualbox, I can't write any of the "ALT codes". The Tilde for instance (which is a combination of ALT + 126).
For the rest, my keyboard seems to work quite well.
Any help?
Thanks

Re: Can't write Tilde or any other alt code
I don't believe that will work in VirtualBox. VirtualBox will see the ALT key being pressed, but I believe that conversion of an ALT numeric code is done at driver level in the host, so VirtualBox won't see the digits. What VirtualBox will probably see is "ALT+<tilde>" (or whatever). There are a number of keyboard constraints caused by sharing the keyboard with the host OS, this would be one of them.
If you want to type a tilde character then perhaps a soft keyboard inside the guest OS would provide a solution.
