Linux VM being aborted on 6.1.22

Post by Nayphee »

Tried installing the latest LTS 20.04 Ubuntu and Linux Mint 20.1 Cinnamon on 6.1.22 64-bit (Windows 10 64-bit host)
Used Ubuntu 64-bit profile
gave dynamically allocated 60GB for a main hard disk and 2 processors (from a 4 core system)
4GB of ram (from 8GB system)
I figure 2 cores and 4GB should be enough resources...

Both install fine, although Mint whinges about the lack of a graphics driver - then tries to search for one - then decides it can't find one.
Anyway some time after installing the Linux guest addons and a few reboots later, the VM freezes about 5 minutes into desktop use (usually while web browsing) and then goes into the aborted state.
Not sure if guest additions are to blame but the install went fine for both with no interruptions.

Any ideas?

Start the VM from full power off, not save-state. Run until you see the problem happen, then shut down the VM from within the VM OS if possible. If not possible, close the Virtualbox window for the VM with the Power Off option set.

Please right-click the VM in the main Virtualbox window's VM list, choose Show Log. Save the far left tab's log and the next tab over (the hardening log), zip both files, and post the zip file, using the forum's Upload Attachment tab.
