VirtualBox “Auto resize guest display” greyed out

Post by Andy___ »

Hello expert,

I have a redhat 5.11 guest installed with the VirtualBox in win10, VirtualBox is 6.1.20.
the guest additional cd had been installed. the resolution was fixed by 800x600, also VirtualBox “Auto resize guest display” greyed out.

is there any can help me to solve this issue?

I am using an old Ubuntu guest OS, but had the same issue. Sadly, the only thing that worked for me was to drop back to VirtualBox 6.1.14, anything newer and the ability to auto resize goes away.
