I have a Linux Guest on a WIndows 7 computer (Host) that someone else set up. Everything was fine until yesterday when I started the computer and started a guest session (from boot, not restarted) and now they can't connect (I get "Connection failed, Activation of network connection failed", "connect: Network is unreachable" and other errors saying the connection is down). I can't ask the guy who set it up to take a look so I'm asking here. Where should I start looking? I'm not sure what if anything changed from earlier in the week when everything was fine.

I can use the shared folder without any issues.

Check that "VirtualBox Host-Only Network" virtual network card is installed and enabled in the host networking panel.

If you have any further questions then a VM log will be required. Make sure the VM is fully shut down, then right click it in the manager UI. Select "Show Log" and save "VBox.log" (no other file) to a zip file. Attach the zip here.

The Host Network Manager shows Only Ethernet Adapter, not Only Network. I tried to change it using the command shown below, but it doesn't change anything. I did check and misspelling the vmname causes an error.

By host networking panel I meant the host OS networking panel, not any VirtualBox dialog.

I now think this is more of a Windows Host issue. I have enabled the VirtualBox Host-Only Netrwork, but I can't figure out how to connect the PC. The PC is connected to the Network 4 and I can't switch it.
