Virtual Machine black screen after removing disk

Post by Fisher121 »

Hi! I was trying to resize my disk(without success) and I had to remove my disk. After I added back my disk, when I start my VM I get a black screen. How can I solve this problem? Or how can I get the data on my VM back? When I start the VM i can see the ubuntu logo then it goes black.

If your VM's disk ran out of space, triggering the resize, Ubuntu et al is known to fail to open a GUI desktop with a full disk, whether on real hardware or in a VM. Fixing as one would do on a real PC with the problem is needed. Web-search how to fix this through Ubuntu's help channels.
