Guru Meditation Error while running cloudera guest

Post by RandomName »

Hi, I have recently installed VirtualBox VM and imported cloudera with no invalid settings detected. However on starting, I am getting Guru Meditation error. I have attached a compressed log file for your reference. Please advise, thank you.

00:00:06.539695 Host RAM: 7828MB (7.6GB) total, 4388MB (4.2GB) available
00:00:08.311310 CPUM: Physical host cores: 4
...
00:00:07.005207 RamSize <integer> = 0x0000000100000000 (4 294 967 296, 4 096 MB, 4.0 GB)
00:00:07.005202 NumCPUs <integer> = 0x0000000000000003 (3)
00:00:07.019493 VRamSize <integer> = 0x0000000000e00000 (14 680 064, 14 MB)
Starving the host OS of RAM and CPU isn't going to help the VM run better. I would reduce the guest RAM allocation to 2048MB and reduce CPU cores to 2.

For some reason nobody ever seems to pay any attention to graphics RAM, with this being a typical example - 14MB is nothing like enough for a modern OS, and I think you must have even reduced that from the default 16MB? Anyway, I recommend you increase it to 64MB or more.

Finally, you have Hyper-v enabled.

Read related FAQ: I have a 64bit host, but can't install 64bit guests, especially post #3.
