It defaulted to 800x600 with new install. I changed it to something more usable. But the window wasn't changing size, it was just fitting the higher resolution in to the same window, and everything was very small. So I tried to select the 100% option, I ended up with this. I have restarted twice, no help. I can't do anything....
The login screen is as it should be.

As soon as mouse pointer hits the edge of the visible desktop, it jumps to outside the window.

IMG tags only work on images previously uploaded with the forum Upload Attachment tab.
Forum gurus don't go to 3rd-part sites for images that can be posted with Upload Attachment from first day first post.
Glad you found a solution! Guest Additions is required in the VM for full display compatibility. Wayland on host or VM can cause some troubles; Virtualbox is not fully compatible with Wayland yet.
