Whenever I install the guest-additions, after a reboot the system breaks after logging in.
I get to the ubuntu login screen, enter my password, and the remainder of the GUI never loads.
Virtualbox Version: 6.1
Host OS: Ubuntu 20.04 64bit
Guest OS: Ubuntu 14.04.6 32bit
Guest kernel: 4.4.0-142-generic
Any suggestions as to how to fix this?

Try maxing out the video ram.
