Linux virtual machine hangs randomly

Post by cpfarher »

Hello, have a Linux virtual machine running over windows. I have access outside with ssh but the problem is that the VM hangs randomly. Also, I tried to open throught the virtualbox window, and it show a black screen (normally it show the prompt). I can't enter, the only way to enter is shutdown and restart them.
Inside the vm I have some monitor services, and before the vm hangs I saw thas the cpu is about 50% and memory less than 50%... So I can't understand what is the problem...
I attached here the log of the vm... Any help is appreciated!

Your log file says that you are running VirtualBox 5.0.12 which is over 2 years old and no longer supported or developed by Oracle.

I would start by upgrading to the latest version (5.2.8 as of writing) and see if that resolves any of your problems. With the recent, and ongoing, issues with Meltdown and Spectre there are fixes coming in from all sides to both your host and guest OS.
