Laggy mouse movement, slow virtual machine
Laggy mouse movement, slow virtual machine
Hello ! i'm fairly new to the VirtualBox party but ive just installed a guest machine that is running "macOS High Sierra" version 10.13.6 from a host that's on windows 10 2004 version, the virtual machine is oddly slow even tho i have given it 8-10gb of ram, 3 of my six cores, 256 mb of video memory, but everything kind of just is really slow with it, a lot of screen tearing when moving objects and such, its also being run on an external SSD from Seagate, the mouse movement is extremely choppy and guest additions after 3 installs just doesnt work, im on virtualbox version "Version 6.1.12 r139181 (Qt5.6.2)" and im getting really fed up with this, its like the 4th time now!

Windows host OS running a Mac guest is only allowed if the physical computer is real Mac hardware.
OSX guests on non-Apple hardware
If you are running a real Mac physical computer with Windows as the host OS, start the guest from full normal shutdown, not save-state. Run until you see the problem happen, then shut down the guest from within the guest OS if possible. If not possible, close the Virtualbox window for the guest with the Power Off option set.
Right-click the guest in the main Virtualbox window's guest list, choose Show Log. Save the far left tab's log, zip it, and post the zip file, using the forum's Upload Attachment tab.
If your physical computer is not a real Mac we cannot help.

You are not legally allowed to run a Mac guest on a not-Apple computer, like a Dell or HP or a home-brew beast assembled from parts from Newegg.
You can run Windows or Linux or Martian OS on a Mac then run a Mac guest legally. The physical computer must be an Apple computer.
