VirtualBox v6 screen resolution

Post by ondrejsm »

Hi, I use VirtualBox many years on my Mac. But since version 6 is out, I have problem using it. Version 5.x is ok.

I use 2 more monitors with my Mac and when I move Virtualbox screen from one monitor to another, VB is scaling resolution. My Mac has its default 2880x1800, another two monitors have 1920x1080. VB on 1920x1080 is ok, but when I move its window to Mac monitor, it is almost impossible to view what is on screen because everything is quite too small. Is there some solution for this problem? I didn't find anyone complaining about it, but I had this problem in Mojave on old MacBook Pro mid-2014 as on new MacBook Pro 15-inch 2019. External monitors are connected via Apple USB-C Digital AV Multiport Adapter.

Thanks

Try setting scale factor to 200% in the VirtualBox Manager Preferences | Display.

No, scale factor 200% makes it much worse - on FullHD monitor I have to scroll from side to side and on MacBook monitor it is similar...

Adding attachments, if it helps somehow...
On this picture, it looks like it should look (FullHD monitor):

On this picture, it looks like it should not look like (MacBook primary monitor):
