I recently installed macOS catalina guest and have not been able to get the audio to work. It says there are no output devices available, and when I try to install the GA's it says the installation has failed. How can I get audio working?

The GAs have nothing to do with audio, as the latter is implemented by virtual hardware, not special drivers.
Please provide a VM log file. With the VM fully shut down, right click it in the GUI. Select "Show Log" and save "VBox.log" (no other file) to a zip file. Attach the zip here.
