macOS 10.13 or 10.15 on Windows 10 change resolution

Post by byron tang »

I installed macOS 10.13 on Windows10's PC with virtualbox 6.0.4 on October 30th. I can adjust the resolution. After upgrading to Virtualbox 6.0.14, I can't change the resolution with the command:

cd "C:\Program Files\Oracle\VirtualBox\"
VBoxManage setextradata "MV name" VBoxInternal2/EfiGraphicsResolution 1440×900

it is always 1024x768.

This is also the case with MacOS 10.15 on the same machine.

Tested on a MACBOOK, also using Virtual Box6.0.14, the resolution can not be modified.
I don't know if there are other people who have encountered such problems. Please teach me if you have any solutions. Thank you!

OSX guests are only supported on Apple hardware (which you do not have). I recently made the "OSX guests on non-Apple hardware" a Global post, which means it shows as first on every forum area, makes me wonder how come you missed it...

In the really rare case (0.001%) that this is actually an Apple computer, in which you have installed Windows, and you're trying to boot a legitimate OSX guest and not a Hackintosh, send me a PM and I'll remedy the situation. Be prepared to provide evidence in such a case.
Do NOT send me Personal Messages (PMs) for troubleshooting, they are simply deleted.
Do NOT reply with the "QUOTE" button, please use the "POST REPLY", at the bottom of the form.
If you obfuscate any information requested, I will obfuscate my response. These are virtual UUIDs, not real ones.
