Mac OS Startup Issues

Post by Modnar »

Hi,
I'm having a weird issue where when I startup my Snow Leopard VM it loads normally till it reaches a line saying "systemShutdown false" and then "Previous Shutdown Cause:3" then takes ages and finally finishes booting. However, when in Mac OS there is a grey screen and a loading beachball (ive tried waiting reloading saving etc.) . I have tried importing the ova, or using the vdi and all other files from my laptop where it works fine.
I tested the iso file I am using and it works fine on my laptop.
When on my laptop there is alot more verbose text after the systemShutdown false line but on the desktop (where it isnt working) it just gives a few very fast lines and then boots into macos.

If anyone knows why this is happening or how to solve it help would be much appreciated.
All the system preferences are set to default however I have tried changing them to see if it has any influence.

Moving to "OSX Guests" from "Using VirtualBox".

What other laptop? What's the brand, and model number? OS version?

What ISO? Where did you get it from?

We need to see a complete VBox.log, from a complete VM run, where the problem occurs:
  • Start the VM from cold-boot (not from a paused or saved state) / Observe problem / Shutdown the VM (force close it if you have to).
  • With the VM completely shut down (not paused or saved), right-click on the VM in the VirtualBox Manager and select "Show Log".
  • Save only the first "VBox.log", ZIP it and attach it to your response. See the "Upload attachment" tab below the reply form.
