Installing Mac OS X Server 10.6 on VM returns Kernel panic

Post by jfha73 »

Hey guys,

I have Virtual box 6 on a Mac OS X 10.14 Mojave, I'm trying to install Mac OS X Server 10.6 to a VM so I can compile some packages, but it's not letting me, all I see when it starts is that it ran into a Kernel Panic and it won't start.

Any ideas what can I do to fix this?

Thanks,

First of all, that's a guest problem so I'm moving this to "OSX Guests" from "OSX Hosts".

Then I need to know what you used to boot the VM. How did you get/create the ISO.

And finally, I need to see a complete VBox.log, from a complete VM run, where the problem occurs:
  • Start the VM from cold-boot (not from a paused or saved state) / Observe problem / Shutdown the VM (force close it if you have to).
  • With the VM completely shut down (not paused or saved), right-click on the VM in the VirtualBox Manager and select "Show Log".
  • Save only the first "VBox.log", ZIP it and attach it to your response. See the "Upload attachment" tab below the reply form.
