I've installed OSX 10.11 inside VirtualBox 5.2.16 on Ubuntu 18.04 and I can't change the screen resolution. It's stuck at 1024*768 it seems.
I did find this method:
VBoxManage setextradata "osx-el-capitan" VBoxInternal2/EfiGopMode 5
, but it's not working; it just prompts
Is this the way we're supposed to do it?, issue a command to set the resolution? Also, it only has 1 to 5; what if you want like a special resolution of 1920*1200

You do not have an OSX Host, and unfortunately OSX guests are only supported on Apple hardware. See: Important notice regarding Mac OS X as Guest.famadorian wrote:on Ubuntu 18.04
In the really rare case (0.001%) that this is actually an Apple computer, in which you have installed Ubuntu, and you're trying to boot a legitimate OSX guest and not a Hackintosh, send me a PM and I'll remedy the situation. Be prepared to provide evidence in such a case.
Do NOT send me Personal Messages (PMs) for troubleshooting, they are simply deleted.
