Unable to Increase Memory beyond 3GB

Post by trist »

The host machine I've got is a macOS Sierra with 16GB RAM, i've installed Mavericks as the guest. I've managed to increase the RAM (guest) to just over 3GB but any higher and the guest screen boots up black, I don't think it completes boot top as it doesn't;t appear as a network device on the host.

Has anybody had any experience with a similar config? I'm hoping to run Adobe CS5 apps on the guest but with just 3GB it's a bit cludgy.

Cheers
