Hello all:
I am new to the forum. I'm also new to virtualbox and am *not a power user, meaning I break out into a cold sweat whenever anyone says "go into terminal mode and type...."
Having said that, virtualbox is so easy, even I managed to set up a vm running Windows 7 on my mac mini [late 2012, 16gb ram, 1TB hd, El Capitan 10.11.3].
Here's the thing.
I think I mistakenly chose "dynamically expanded" during the setup process for my disk, thinking if I need more great, but why allot more if I don't need it. So I set it at 350gb.
Something seems to have happened (or be happening), however, that's causing the associated .vdi file to get huge. When I'm in my win 7 vm, it says I'm only using like 34gig.... but back out in OS X, my Win 7.vdi file is listed at 375gig!!
I really wish now that I had just set it up to be a fixed size of 64gig and been done with it. HOW do I get this under control? And if this is going to entail commands from terminal, please be patient with me.
Thanks for whatever help you can offer.
T.M.
