Failed to load unit 'hda' for Windows 10 restart

Post by AlexLK »

Hi All,

A similar topic is floating around for Windows Guests. Is anyone having trouble on their Mac OS X VirtualBox starting Windows 10 due to this error (failed to load unit 'hda')? More importantly, has anyone come up with a temporary solution without having to wait for a test build that fixes the problem? I'm currently on VirtualBox 5.0.12 r104815. I tried some of the current test builds but they haven't fixed the issue yet. The exact error is as follows:

Failed to open a session for the virtual machine Windows 10 VM.

Failed to load unit 'hda' (VERR_SSM_LOADED_TOO_LITTLE).

Result Code: NS_ERROR_FAILURE (0x80004005)
Component: ConsoleWrap
Interface: IConsole {872da645-4a9b-1727-bee2-5585105b9eed}

It's the same problem. The guest OS doesn't matter.

Go back to 5.0.10.
