OSX on OSX install in VB 4.2.1 hangs

I am running VB 4.2.1 r80871 on OSX 10.8.2 on a Retina MBP. I am trying to install Mountain Lion as a guest to run alternate versions of Xcode on, and it boots until it hangs after "AppleIntelCPUPowerManagementClient: Ready" (see screen shot). Any ideas why?

It might be useful to attach a zipped copy of the VBox.log file to your request for help, and detail the VB settings you used when creating the VM. For example; there is a known issue with running OS X guests if you don't choose "Mac OS X Server (64-bit)" as the Version in the General settings on the Basic tab.

I am having the same problem too, and am really looking for a solution...I have set it up as os x 64-bit i am mounting installESD.dmg for install i have unchecked floppy from the boot menu i have cd first in the boot order and then the drive. Any ideas would be appreciated, thanks.

Have you assigned at least 2GB memory to the VM?

The same thing here. Assigned 2GB of memory. And Lion does not work...
