Critical error while running the virtual machine

Post by dentons »

Hi! I'm trying to install Snow Leopard 10.6 on Ubuntu 10.10 and virtualbox 4.0.6. I tried some hackintosh version (iatkos and hazard) and also the retail version with EFI bootloader (it worked on windows) but I always obtain a critical error.
These are the logs:

http://dl.dropbox.com/u/17962839/VBox.log.1
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/17962839/VBox.log.2
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/17962839/VBox.log.3
And every time I start my virtual hard disk I obtain this:
VT-x/AMD-V hardware acceleration is not available on your system. Certain guests (e.g. OS/2 and QNX) require this feature and will fail to boot without it.
I hope someone can help me...
Thanks
Dario

I see this in the log:

Code: Select all

00:00:00.430 DMI Product Name: R520/R522/R620
Which indicates for me you're running it on a Dell server. Since Dell is not Apple, you're running it on unsupported hardware. The Manual clearly states that OSX SERVER is only allowed on APPLE hardware. Another requirement is VT-x, and your CPU doesn't have it.
