SL Server Guest - Initial Observation

Post by mike-h30 »

I am experimenting with my SL Server guest and I noticed that the icons in the dock appear to be a little bit slower when they bounce up and down during the launch of an application. I am not overly concerned as I do not intend to use my SL Server guest like a desktop and will be used more as a web server and email server. I am curious though why the icons in the Sl Server guest seem a tad slower than the physical host SL Server. My guest has 3.5 GB of RAM allocated to it. My physical host has 8GB of RAM. I also noticed that my Linux guests never had this problem. I noticed this behavior on both Virtual Box 3.2 and Virtual Box 4.0. Has any one else seen this?

This more than likely stems for the lack of guest additions (which I found out is not going to happen unless the community develops it) and no acceleration.
Should not matter if you use it as a server though.

Thanks! I am still looking forward to running a production SL Server VM. This is very cool.
