If you are a paid ADC member, you may get the Leopard DVD from its mac download.

As to my Tiger build, there's no retail equivalent DVD for intel, so I installed it on the real mac, that DVD intended for, and a real GUID partition. Make a read-only image. Use a working OS X guest (e.g. SL guest) and attach a 2nd and new disk file. Use the working OS X guest to partition the other disk and restore the image file into it. Once done, detach the 2nd disk from the working OS X guest and associate it with a new OS X guest.

Hi htlmac!

Thanks for the suggestion with the moved real install.
I've tried this as follows:

Installed 10.5 from the OEM Disk on an USB HDD.
Made an read-only image and restored it on a clean VDI using my working SL guest.

When I tried to boot up the new 10.5 guest, it hung at the same point as the 10.5 installer...

Before I try it again:
Do you think it makes any difference to update the 10.5 real install to 10.5.8 before creating the image?

Thank you!

Yes, the image should update to the latest combo update, as that would support more mac hardware. Sorry, I missed that out in my writing.

Thank you very much!
I'll give it a try and come back with a report.

It sounds like the issue is because you're trying to boot from a client disk and not a server disk. Only server OS is supported, so if you're trying to install client you're not going to be able to.
