I'm trying to install Mac OS X in a 3.2 Beta. Installer starts, but I can't type anything!
Does anybody else having the same issue?
Also, can I mount official .dmg for installing? (currently I'm trying to use some third-party .iso)

No. I know, this is unsupported, but does it really matter? Virtualized hardware is the same anyway.Perryg wrote:Is this on MAC hardware?

Re: No keyboard in Mac OS X guest
You have to set keyboard/mouse type to USB. Using wizard with MacOS guest type will do that automatically, but you could also use VBoxManage or vboxshell.py to do the same.

Re: No keyboard in Mac OS X guest
I am having an issue where the VM does not recognize any keyboards (even an external USB keyboard). I have tried both the Snow Leopard disc and the original Tiger disc that came with my MacBook Pro. I have tried this several times with the original settings set up by the wizard, and with tweaked settings. I can not get past the EFI shell prompt.

Re: No keyboard in Mac OS X guest
I had the same issue and created a custom USB Filter with the following settings,
Name = Keyboard
VendorID = 046d (this is the ID for logitech)
Product ID = 6240 (this is the ID for my wireless keyboard, check their site for yours)
Manufacture r= Logitech
Product = Keyboard
All other fields were left blank.
When installing OSX, it recognised the keyboard and mouse and loaded the correct drivers and all works great.
Also to get a higher resolution ie. 1440 x 900, do the following
VBoxManage setextradata [vm name] VBoxInternal2/EfiGopMode [n]
where [vm name] is the name of the VM. Use double quotes if the VM has a space in it. ie "OSX 1"
[n] is a numberbetween 1 and 4, with 4 being 1440 x 900.
No need for the [] in the command.
Enjoy and hope this works for you. I hunted around a lot to find this info.
Cheers
