Can you drag and drop files on a macOS Guest?

Post by dumbidiot453 »

I'm on a macOS Monterey host and a macOS Sierra guest and I installed Guest Additions but I can't drag and drop. My question is, is it even possible? And can I use shared folders at all so I can acess files from my host? :?:

Topic moved to "MacOS Guests", the subject of the question.

There is a sticky in the OS X Guests forum which tells you what works in the (not officially provided) MacOS Guest Additions (GAs) stub. I'm afraid that drag and drop is not among the working features, nor is accelerated graphics. Likewise shared folders, but you can set up a normal network share quite easily.

If you can successfully use Virtualbox's Bridged to connect the VM to the wired LAN (Wi-Fi may or may not work), or you can use Host-Only, then you have a standard Ethernet network between host and VM. Then use normal Mac OS method to share folders over the network (web-search how to do this).
