Hi,
I have a Lion (10.7.5) guest on an OSX Host (11.1 Big Sur). I have installed the latest VBox 6.1.16 and the guest additions.
In the guest, they fail to start, causing a spawn loop.
Attached the vbox log. I also attached the system.log showing the fail to load and respawn loop.
I also attempted to install the GA on a 10.9.5 guest and have the same errors.
The host is a genuine iMac.

I was able to duplicate your problem with a Lion guest - I think the only recourse to get this working is to submit a bug report. It appears the guest .kext installed by VirtualBox is no longer supported on 10.7.x
That said - I wonder if these GA's have ever worked on Lion (10.7.x). The table created by @socratis in the first post of thread viewtopic.php?f=22&t=90798 suggests that they have never worked.
I find the macOS GA's to be of limited use on any macOS guest - My preferred approach is to enable screen sharing in the guest system and then attach to it from the host system. Using a screensharing client from the host gives, drag 'n drop file copying, copy/paste of text items. The VirtualBoxVM window can be minimised to reduce screen clutter.
