Hi everybody
In my OpenSolaris 2009.06 guest operating system I am not able to use the key for characters "<,>,\". It is the key located to the right side of the left shift-key. Pressing this key does not produce any character in my OpenSolaris machine.
I have a 64-bit Windows 7 host operating system, the keyboard is 'Swiss-German'. VirtualBox Version is 3.2.8.
Anybody knows how to activate this key?
Thanks for your help

Re: Keyboard Question: One Key does not work
I wouldn't mind if that key is disabled, I hate it. It's right in the spot where I always use the shift key. But if you want to make it work, you first have to figure out if the Host actually gets keycodes from it. If your Solaris system has X, then using 'xev' from a terminal will give you the keycodes it produces. You can then use xmodmap to assign characters to it and should then also work on the Guest. VB just passes the keycodes from the Host to the guest. No code == no input. Change the code assignment and that new assignment will be used in the Guest.

Re: Keyboard Question: One Key does not work
I recently ubgrade my laptop from XP to Windows 7 and now I'm facing the same problem.
But in addition, also the #' key does not work and it seems to be a problem which occurs only on the console.
Under Gnome or CDE desktop all keys work fine.
I had the same VMs running under XP were this problem did not occour.

Re: Keyboard Question: One Key does not work
You don't have the same problem, because your Host isn't Solaris but Windows. Ask the question on the Windows Host section and make sure to give some more information than what you have now. Read the Forum Posting Guide for it.
