guest export/clone and hostid

Post by st222 »

Does anyone know how I can copy a guest for installation on another machine and have the copied guest use a different hostid?

By hostid I mean the numeric identifier of the guest as reported by the guest (opensolaris) hostid command.

User Commands hostid(1)

NAME
hostid - print the numeric identifier of the current host

SYNOPSIS
/usr/bin/hostid

DESCRIPTION
The hostid command prints the identifier of the current host
in hexadecimal. This numeric value is likely to differ when
hostid is run on a different machine.

Ah that id :D well if you can't change it from the VM then use a hexeditor on the VDI.
