Slow Solaris on Linux host

Post by Googie »

Hi,

I'm using VBox 3.0.2. I have WindowsXP guest and it works perfectly.
I also have Solaris 10 x86, I installed guest additions (with: pkgadd -d additions_file.pkg) and rebooted system, but I still feel like the additions doesn't work. GUI is slow as before installation of additions, as well as compiling any stuff - it's slow as hell :(

Also sound doesn't work :( I set ICH AC97 as sound card.

Did I install additions in wrong way or what?

Note that shared clipboard and intergated mouse works correctly.

Didn't see a solution posted but I have Windows Vista and had no problem with the guest installs including sound card although I have a newer version---

Sometimes ago i tested Solaris you had to install OSS (www.opensound.com).

Because speed: Have you enough ressources in real hardware and enough ram for the guest?
