OpenSolaris 2008.11 Garbled Sound with VB 2.2.0

With VB 2.1.4, all things went fine. With 2.2.0, Sound is garbled horribly (as if you overloaded an analog input).

Sound driver was added by doing:

update_drv -a -i '"pci8086,2415"' audio810

So the audio810 driver got attached but sound is terrible. The mixer control applet does not work well either, its like a combined balance volume device, just fuzzy.

The same effect occurs on OpenSolaris 64bit (with VT-X) and 32bit (software emulation).

With VirtualBox 2.1.4 all went well.

Any ideas?

I am using VirtualBox 2.2.0 on Mac OS X 10.5, Core Audio.
Guests Windows XP, Windows 98, Windows 95, Windows 3.11, Suse Linux - all are working with sound.
