Solaris won't Install x64

Post by woboyle »

I am running CentOS 5.2 as a host OS in 64-bit mode on a dual quad-core Intel S5000XVN motherboard with 2 E5450 xeon CPUs. The hardware virtualization features are enabled in the BIOS and VT-x/ADM-V is enabled for the guest OS, along with the OS setting as Solaris and Version as Solaris (64 bit). I am booting from the 2008.11 DVD - I burned the ISO image (sol-10-u6-ga1-x86-dvd) to a DVD+R and used that to install Solaris in a 50GB VM. It only runs and installs as Solaris x86 (32 bit). How can I get the 64 bit version installed and running in my system in a VBox VM? I need to port some Solaris (sparc) device drivers to the Intel version in 64 bit mode.
