[Solved]Windows 10 Pro OOBEKEYBOARD EZDP and LOCAL

Post by Oscar the Grouch »

Hi everyone,
Trying to install a Windows 10 Pro Guest, setup installs but fails to set up on first boot.
Gets past the Region then fails with "OOBERKEYBOARD", lets me skip, fails with "OOBEREZDP", lets me skip that and fails on "OOBERLOCAL", can only "Try Again".
Second ios image that does this, other was just Windows 10 Home.

Host: Gateway Linux Mint 18.3 Sylvia 64 bit
Virtualbox 6.1.2
Any help appreciated.

I had a Windows 10 guest throw an OOBE error once, 'Try Again' worked.

Try web-searching "Windows 10 OOBE{fill-in-the-rest} site:forums.virtualbox.org" to see what others may have done.

Also confirm that your guest settings meet the minimum system requirements for Windows 10. Virtualbox sets up a new Windows 10 guest with one processor, but 10 really likes 2 processors. I vaguely remember someone getting beyond OOBE trouble by setting to 2 processors.

Choosing Two processors definitely fixed the issue, in the System found in settings, which is done normally before you start up your machine.
I was using an enterprise ISO which requested my Work or School, but clicked on the bottom left on 'Offline' to continue and fully complete the installation. :D
Yours Sincerely
