New to this forum. I hope someone can help with the following issue?
The issue: The latest 64- and 32-bit versions of Calibre (4.9) both display epub books in the e-reader with text upside-down and left-right flipped (I think). I have attached a snap of what it looks like
This image shows 'Circe' open in the Calibre e-boom editor. The e-book's HTML is displayed correctly. The rendered e-book text is not (upside-down etc).
According to Kovid Goyal the creator of Calibre
See MobileRead Forums > E-Book Software > Calibre. This will be some issue with the graphics card drivers compatibility with webengine.
My temporary fix: The Calibre e-reader display problem goes away if the Win10 guest VM has 'Enable 3D acceleration' disabled. That's with the VBoxSVGA graphics adaptor.
I'm running VirtualBox is v. 6.1 r135662 (Qt 5.6.1) in Linux Mint 18.3 (64-bit Cinnamon) and the win 10 VM has the 6.1 guest additions CD installed.

Hope someone can help!
