acpipowerbutton windows 7 or windows 10 not posible

hi, please can you tell me why tihs script not work.

"C:\Program Files\Oracle\VirtualBox\VBoxManage.exe" controlvm "W7_159" acpipowerbutton

the vmashine make no reaktion.
what is wrong? please can someone help me?

The command line you posted looks good.

The guest OS must be set to respond to the "power button" in its power settings, then the command should work.

Assuming a Windows 7 guest, go to Control Panel, Power Options, "Choose what the power button does".

It could also be possible that Guest Additions need to be installed in the guest.

Hi scottgus1, thak you for your post. Guest Additions is installed. But the Control Panel, Power Options the power button is disabled, its crazy. can I insert a picture here?

Pictures can be cropped & resized to fit the forum's 128kB size limit, then attached using the forum's Upload Attachment tab. PNG is the best format.

if i take the virtualbox gui the power button is correct, i go to the machine with remote desktop rdp the power button is deactivated.

sorry im wrong. the powerbutton is correct ind rdp session. than im understand why acpipowerbutton not work. :(

even crazier, sometimes the power button activ sometimes is not activ. I'm going crazy

Looks like you have to click the "Einige Einstellungen" link to ask for admin privileges, then the dropdown should be active. Apparently "hereunterfahren" means "shut down" so it should be set right.

Look in the Event Viewer, and google "why doesn't my Windows 7 PC turn off when I touch the power button" or something like that.
