Shared Folders

Post by Orthogonal »

I have just installed VBox 6.1.0 on Windows 8.1 pro. I'm using a Windows 7 VM. I have installed the 'guest addition' and its listed under Preferences > Extensions but when I try to set up a shared folder I get a message that says Guest Extensions Don't appear available and I can't seem to set up a shared folder. This is my first first attempt at VM so I don't no much yet.

Extension Pack is not Guest Additions.

Extension Pack goes in the host PC's main Virtualbox window's File menu > Preferences > Extensions.

Guest Additions go in the guest: Start the guest, log in, guest window Devices menu, Insert Guest Additions CD image, look in the guest's CD drive.
