I have a problem activating Aero in Windows virtual machine (Vista, Win 7 and Win 8.1.
I'm using the VirtualBox version 6.0.8 and after installing the Guest Additions with the 3D option and activatint the 3D in the parameters of the VM. When I try to activate Aero in Windows, I have a message telling me that the graphic controler is not compatible.
And with the version 5 of VirtualBox, it was possible to get the Aero activated in all Windows version.
How can I activate Aero in Windows ?
Hoping to get help.

Re: VBox graphic controler not compatible with Aero
I think I have the same problem. Installed VBox 6.1, updated GPU emulation settings and upgraded guest additions.
Now, I can't get Aero effects anymore.

Re: VBox graphic controler not compatible with Aero
Updated video drivers.
GPU is nVidia GT 640, drivers 442.74 GRD.
Aero effects are back, though screen updates are not very reliable. There's still black patches appear every now and then.
