Internet-ADSL-Gateway - Host Windows 10 - Guest on Virtualbox 6.0.10 Windows XP + SP3 working
Host has 1 network card configured NAT and has received IP via D H C P and is shown to be connected.
The only browser available in the newly installed system is IE. When trying to access a website - Page cannot be shown.
Connection problems diagnosis yields:
Error 12157 .......
I have tried different websites on the internet, always same error message.
Accessing my host's gateway webinterface at with guest IE works ok.
Pinging from XP-guest to servers on the internet works also.
I guess the ancient internet explorer in the XP-installation is the problem but I need it only to get newer software installed in the guest system.
Can I make the IE work somehow in the guest?
Any other means to install a newer firefox on the guest to get started?
Cannot post IP addresses of my home network because of forum software restriction
XP Guest can ping to internet but browser cannot get websites
Re: XP Guest can ping to internet but browser cannot get websites
Problem solved:
I installed last Firefox version for XP and Vista from a USB stick in the host after activating the USB-port
This Firefox displays websites without problems.
