ModEdit; related ticket: #18915: Critical structure corruption blue screen
Hi,

I have been getting these "Critical structure corruption" BSODs for a while now and it seems they are getting worse (my VM crashed 3 times the past 30 minutes, but there are also days without any crashes). I get crashes after a while of working and I suspect something graphics related, not sure though. Since the last Windows update there are also weird graphical glitches at the logon screen - I am using the VBoxVGA driver incl. 3D&2D acceleration.
The crashes seem to happen more when using MS Office software (e.g. Skype for Business or Word/Outlook). I did not have those issues before this patch here: viewtopic.php?f=2&t=91264 hence my suspicion in this direction.

Attached is the log file from a crash. Is there anything I can try?

Try to switch the vGPU to the newer VBoxSVGA.

ok I will try, but last time I was told the SVGA driver is not stable yet :) (and I also had so many graphical glitches and black boxes all over the place while working)

I know, that used to be the general advice given; prefer the more stable rather than the newer with issues.. But, the older VBoxVGA might be phased out. It's up to you if you want to help debug/fix the issues with the newer VBoxSVGA before you're forced to use it :)

I have tried but I can't use the VboxSVGA driver, it just doesn't work for me, I'm getting weird corruptions all over the place, black areas and moving the mouse there the picture appears, etc.
edit: just saw that 6.0.10 exists now, I am upgrading, maybe it magically helps :)

6.0.12 does not help either.. attached is a log file where I have worked a while (not long actually) until the first crash happened again. Sometimes the screen also refreshes and everything gets black where I can't do anything until it goes away (2-3 seconds).

Is the Nvidia driver on your host updated to the latest version?

it's one of the more recent versions, I have upgraded a few weeks ago (didn't change anything in comparison to the older drivers). I don't have the newest 435.x from last week installed yet, but 430.40 (which is the most recent version available through Ubuntu ppa)
