Greetings,
I am not sure if anyone can help me with this, I am using MacOS 10.14.4 (18E226), I can copy from the Mac and paste into the virtual machine but can't copy from the virtual machine and paste into the MacOS. In the virtual machine I am running Windows 7.
Any ideas how to resolve this?
Thank you very much.

First of all, you posted on the "OSX Guests" area, but the proper one would be either "OSX Hosts" or "Windows Guests". I'm going to move it to the latter. And I changed the title from "Copy Paste" to something more appropriate.

We need to see a complete VBox.log, from a complete VM run, where the problem occurs:
- Start the VM from cold-boot (not from a paused or saved state) / Observe problem / Shutdown the VM (force close it if you have to).
- With the VM completely shut down (not paused or saved), right-click on the VM in the VirtualBox Manager and select "Show Log".
- Save only the first "VBox.log", ZIP it and attach it to your response. See the "Upload attachment" tab below the reply form.

Re: Copy/Paste from Win7 guest to OSX host
Were the instructions on how to get the log not clear enough? Do they need some adjustment? Because I think they clearly said:
Oh, and don't forget to eject the GAs CD after you're done, not a good idea to keep it in always mounted, especially if you're about to upgrade your VirtualBox install...
not to do 122 times a SUSPEND/RESUME cycle, right? So, can you explain to me, why do I have to go through 13 hr 58' 07" of log entries to find that needle in the haystack, can you?socratis wrote:Start the VM from cold-boot (not from a paused or saved state) / Observe problem / Shutdown the VM (force close it if you have to).
You have inserted the Guest Additions (GAs) CD, but you haven't actually run "VBoxWindowsAdditions.exe" in order to install/update the GAs. Do it please...VirtualBox VM 5.2.28 r130011 darwin.amd64 (Apr 12 2019 14:46:15) release log ... 00:00:08.549032 VMMDev: Guest Additions information report: Version 5.1.38 r122592 '5.1.38'

Re: Copy/Paste from Win7 guest to OSX host
You have the VM configured correctly (shared clipboard set to bidirectional), but you didn't mention at all what kind of data you're copying inside the VM and are expecting to paste on the host. Clipboard sharing has limited format coverage: it has to be either pure text or pure bitmap image.
Re: Copy/Paste from Win7 guest to OSX host
You may install http://stevemiller.net/PureText/ which allows to convert the clipboard content before pasting to the host.
