Windows 10 activation

Hello,
I tried to install a fresh Win 10 pro and activate it with a key.
It still brings an error and cannot be activated.
I found, that it has a key. Its the key of the host system.
Why? How does it work?
How can I seperate it?
I want to transport the guest system to another system, when needable.

Your virtual installation is in the eyes of Microsoft a new installation on a different (virtual) computer. Therefore it needs its own key.

It's not supposed to be the same, unless you did something specifically to enable that. I don't have a clue what you might have done there, which guide/blog/post you may have followed. But I know that a fresh Win10 installation, does require its own key and it doesn't get it from the host.

The virtual hardware will be the same for the VM, except perhaps the CPU. I don't think that just changing the CPU will force you to re-activate Windows.
