VB Does not connect the Internet via Wi-Fi
VB Does not connect the Internet via Wi-Fi
Hi, the last time I updated VB, I did not have the WIFI connection, I attached the image and I could never connect to the internet anymore. From the Windows Forums tell me: "that I have a hardware failure and the solution would be to replace the card or put one for an auxiliary port or maybe for usb". Please, can you guide me how to solve the problem, thanks

Re: VB Does not connect the Internet via Wi-Fi
I'm going to need a better description of the problem, e.g. it sounds like you are describing your host, despite posting in a "Guests" forum. Is VirtualBox even running?
Also, you mention WiFi and then show me a Windows VPN settings dialog. What is the connection?
Best guess: your host WiFi connection is USB based, and you have prevented it from working by grabbing ownership of it for the VM. If you don't want me to make bad guesses then I'll need better data.

Re: VB Does not connect the Internet via Wi-Fi
I would start by upgrading to VirtualBox 6.0.4, since 6.0.0 has had several bug fixes.

Re: VB Does not connect the Internet via Wi-Fi
So you are trying to use a VPN inside the guest?
And the host is NOT using the same VPN connection?
Please note that the user manual states the following :-

Please note that the user manual states the following :-
This may apply to you, in which case it may be necessary to use bridged networking - though even that is not guaranteed to work with a host WiFi adapter.User Manual 6.3.3 - NAT Limitations wrote: o Some protocols are not supported. Protocols other than TCP and UDP are not supported.
GRE is not supported. This means some VPN products, such as PPTP from Microsoft, cannot
be used. There are other VPN products which use only TCP and UDP.
Re: VB Does not connect the Internet via Wi-Fi
The host connection works fine. The problem arises in VB that I can not connect. I am not clear about the message User Manual 6.3.3 - NAT how did I solve the problem?

Re: VB Does not connect the Internet via Wi-Fi
You are using NAT to connect.00:00:04.866049 [/Devices/e1000/0/LUN#0/] (level 4) 00:00:04.866050 Driver <string> = "NAT" (cb=4)
And you get an IP. And your DNS entries are right there.00:00:05.841882 NAT: Guest address guess set to 10.0.2.15 by initialization 00:00:05.856172 NAT: DNS#0: 186.33.225.10 00:00:05.856207 NAT: DNS#1: 186.33.224.10
So, I don't understand what the problem is. Try the following commands:
Let me know if there's a failure, and which "ping" failed.> ping 10.0.2.2 <-- tests your connectivity > ping 186.33.225.10 <-- tests your DNS server > ping 1.1.1.1 <-- tests outgoing connectivity > ping download.virtualbox.org <-- tests name resolution

I do not know how to verify if the host connection uses the VPN.
The PING failed all

Re: VB Does not connect the Internet via Wi-Fi
Can you stop dealing with VPN for a minute? Start with a simple setup, and then you add different options. Just get rid of it temporarily. Can you connect?
Post the output of the following command from within the guest, and from within the host:

Text is preferred. Smaller, searchable. As opposed to pictures.
I don't see a network adapter in your guest! What have you configured? Why is there no network adapters in your guest?

Re: VB Does not connect the Internet via Wi-Fi
I do not know what happened, after updating to VB 6.0.0 it stopped working. This week update to version 6.0.4 and remains the same.
This topic frustrates me a lot.

Frustrates *you* a lot? What do you think it does to us that we have to hold your hand?
We need to see a complete VBox.log, from a complete VM run, where the problem occurs:

- Start the VM from cold-boot (not from a paused or saved state) / Observe problem / Shutdown the VM (force close it if you have to).
- With the VM completely shut down (not paused or saved), right-click on the VM in the VirtualBox Manager and select "Show Log".
- Save only the first "VBox.log", ZIP it and attach it to your response. See the "Upload attachment" tab below the reply form.
