BSOD while trying to access the Windows host from a Vista VM

Post by Andre.Ziegler »

Hi,

I made a new DVD with vLite and tested it under VirtualBox 1.4. The performance is great, but I have a huge problem. I've mounted a Network-drive ( \\vboxsvr\<sharename> ) to a shared folder. When I try to open die network drive, my VM (Vista Ultimate) crashes with a BSOD. My Host is a WindowsXP MCE 2005 (German, fully patched).

Any Ideas?
André

Code: Select all

A message appears on a blue screen with error code information (for example: 0x0000001E, KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED)
this is what "problem and solutions" told me.

There are known problems with shared folders in windows guests. See http://www.virtualbox.org/ticket/57 for details.

I still have this issue: host Win 10 Pro 1903, Guest Win 10 Pro 1903 + Guest Additions.
If I uninstall Guest Additions there are no BSODs on the guest.

All up-to-date, it's unusable for me VM.

BTW, 'Tis a known bug:

Version 6.0.12 Guest Additions is supposed to have fixed this.
