Windows guest segfault at 1c1 in libpulse

Post by linus100 »

I quit using 5.1 early on and reverted to a previous version because I was getting a lot of crashes that were related to audio.

Today I was running a Windows 7 guest with a Cygwin terminal SSH'd into a remote system and did a clear, saw it clear the xterm window, then the guest was gone. I see this in my /var/log/messages:

Aug 31 14:32:40 lh2 kernel: threaded-ml[26348]: segfault at 1c1 ip 00007f6c7da3f72e sp 00007f6c6bbc9980 error 4 in libpulse.so.0.20.1[7f6c7da0b000+4c000]

Host is CentOS 7.5.1804. I'm now running Vbox 5.2.18 and this is the first time I recall seeing this issue in 5.2 - I hope it isn't back. Has anybody else seen this?

If guests were randomly popping their clogs then I think there would have been more reports of it here.

Did anything get written into the VBox.log file for the guest prior to, or just as, it disappearing?
